Iceberg Wedge Salad


INGREDIENTS: (2 servings)
1/2 Iceberg
1 Tomato, deseeded and cut into small chunks
1/4 Red Onion, roughly chopped
4 pcs Bacons (I used maple flavoured bacon to add extra profile)

DRESSING:
2 tablespoons Mayonnaise, full fat
1/4 cup Milk
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Garlic Clove, minced

DIRECTION:
1. Lay the bacon on a non-stick pan without overlapping them.  Fry them over low heat until they are crispy; turn the bacon over half way through.  Cut the crispy bacon into bite sized pieces.

2. In a small bowl, combine all dressing ingredients. Whisk until it is smooth.

3. Cut the iceberg lettuce into wedges.  Add onion and tomato on top.  Drizzle dressing over it and sprinkle the bacon on top of the lettuce before serving.

Bacon Wrapped Bananas | 煙肉焗香蕉




Bacon with banana? Yup.  It may sound a bit exotic to many people.  It did to me too the first time I heard of it from my housemate, who was from Malaysia.  She told me that it was a popular food people would grill on a barbecue or bake in the oven.  

Lady finger banana is the perfect kind of banana for this dish because it has a relatively firmer body that can go under a high heat of baking without breaking down to mush.  Also, this type of banana is much sweeter than the big ones.

My husband and my son certainly like this exotic flavour and they both are looking forward to the next time when I make it.

Ingredients:
6 Lady finger bananas
6 pieces of Bacon
1 extra Lady finger banana (for garnish)


材料:
6 條 皇帝蕉
6 片   煙肉
1 條   皇帝蕉 (裝飾用)

煙肉焗藍球根  

Ingredients:
15-20 pcs  Brussels Sprouts
8-10 pcs  Smoked Bacon
1/4 cup  Raisins
2 tablespoons  Olive Oil
3/4 teaspoon  Paprika
1/4 teaspoon  Ground Ginger
1/4 teaspoon  Sugar
1/4 teaspoon  Sea Salt
1/3 teaspoon  Ground Black Pepper


材料:
15﹣20 個   藍球根
8﹣10 片   煙肉
1/4 杯   提子乾
2 湯匙   橄欖油
3/4 茶匙   甜紅椒粉
1/4 茶匙   薑粉
1/4 茶匙   糖
1/4 茶匙   海鹽
1/3 茶匙   黑胡椒碎
